Open Area
There is a small, yet very pretty open area near the Bridle Road entrance, where you can sit on a bench and take in those peaceful surroundings. Listen to the birds chirp in the trees above you and watch the squirrels race up and down. This is also a great area for young children to play and families to picnic.

native bluebells Native Bluebells
The Spring Park Wood is well known for its beautiful spread of Native Bluebells that blossom each Spring. It is a peaceful and colourful sight to see and Its thanks to the friends and their hard work that we get to view this tranquil setting each year.

nuthatch bird watching Bird Watching
Many different species of birds live in the top of the trees which attract nature lovers and bird watchers alike. How many breeds can you spot? They chirp and sing continuously, but mainly in the morning with a beautiful, calm and peaceful wake up call for us all.

bird bat box adoption programme Bird & Bat Box Adoption Programme
The update on this is that thanks to the locals enthusiasm we have a mixture of 46 boxes adopted, most of which are located within the wood. Some boxes have had birds nesting in already. This project is on going so if your interested please get in contact. A big thank you to all, who have so far.

wild sleeping fox Wildlife
As well as birds, there is much more wildlife living around the woods. Some you see alot of, and some you don't see at all. They emerge out of their habitats at different times through out the day and night. However, as we enter the Winter months many will not re-appear at all until next Spring.

Most commonly seen during the day is the squirrel and most commonly at night is the fox, plus the Common Pipistrelles and Noctule bats between March and November. Badgers and Hedgehogs etc your not likely to see unless you are very lucky.

If you see an injured animal you can telephone London Wildcare Trust on 020 8647 6230.
