About

In March of 2003, local residents joined together to form the 'Friends' group. Our aim is to copy and manage this fragment of forest, by replicating the old traditional skills as much as possible. These had been practised and used methodically by the under woodsman, over the centuries past.

The group has put over 3000 hours of work into the area by November 2008 and by using this management have brought back a staggered age regrowth structure. Which is rejuvenating the life cycles once again of everything, ranging from the trees, bugs, and native flowers.

As today’s people would say the full Bio-Diversity is being reintroduced!

To witness first hand all the above the woods are always open and can be accessed from Bridle Road, Links View Road or Oak Avenue.

We always welcome new members, so if you are interested in becoming apart of the Friends of Spring Park Wood, don't hesitate to get in touch.
