Welcome to Friends of Spring Park Wood
We are a volunteer group of local residents who, in partnership with Croydon Council, help to care for and improve the wood for the enjoyment of its users.
Croydons piece of Spring Park Wood (The City of London owns the other remaining 35 acre slice in Bromley) is hidden behind houses on all sides. It has 3 different entrances, the main one located off Bridle Road in Shirley.
This oasis is a 7 acre remnant (42 acres including the City's) of a once much larger forest which used to cover an area of over 250 acres or put another way 250 football pitches! This reached from Ash Road to Spout Hill and Bridle Way.
There's plenty of work for all at this little Woodland Oasis, whether it be light weight using secateurs, medium with hedge shears and forks through to heavy duty with Bow saws and Grubbing Mattocks.
We all know that the most precious gift you can give is your time, so please come along find out what we are doing and join in for how ever long you wish to stay.
Its good to switch off from this hectic world we live in today and relax doing a lot of positive to your local environment.
